Help Me! I’ve Gone Above and I Can’t Make a Decision

March 7, 2012 in Wordful Wednesday

Last month I attempted to do the photo challenge put on by FatMumSlim. (You can see that collection of photos on Flicker.) I finished 18 of the 29 challenges. Not too shabby for a first attempt.

This month I have decided to join the MCP Actions photo challenge.

There are just four challenges for the month of March. This feels more manageable for me as I try to balance being a wife, a mom, a mess manager, and attempting to work from home part-time with kids here.
I have taken several shots for the first challenge , but I can’t decide which  two to submit.
I need your help!
Once you have viewed my four photos below , leave me a comment and tell me which two images you think I should use for this challenge.

Wordful Wednesday: What is that note?

February 22, 2012 in Photography

Before the afternoon wiffle ball game we were walking around looking for DeanO’s lost arrow and Sissy was singing a song she learned at school. I was snapping some shots and practicing the techniques from my new book Understanding Exposure. I caught this moment at a time that she was really belting out a note. I don’t remember the song, but for the rest of my life, I will remember that she was singing her heart out when I took this picture.

I do wish that the tree wasn’t behind her shoulder, but in this instance, capturing the look on her face and her movement was more important than a perfectly composed background.
