Deciding on a name for your business can be difficult. You have to make sure that it doesn’t rhyme with something weird or inappropriate so kids won’t tease you…wait that’s choosing a name for your child. Sorry. I got confused for a minute.

I had a heck of time coming up with a name I liked when I started the process last fall. The other problem was that I didn’t exactly know what direction I would be heading with my blog/business. Finally, one day I was brainstorming and Mixed Molly popped into my noggin’.

I quickly wrote it down. I stared at it written on paper, said it out loud, under my breath, in my head a few hundred times (picture crazy mental person here) and I liked it!

I called Jer and interrupted him at work to see what he thought of it–don’t worry, I always interrupt him in the middle of his work- it is a special talent I possess. After a few days of chewing it over, I officially made that the name of my blog and my business.

So why is Molly mixed? Basically because I have an innate inability to choose just one thing.

I love graphic design.

I love photography.

I love painting, sketching, creating with my hands.

I love being crafty (in the making things way, not the devious way.)

I love writing.

I love my family and being a wife and mom.

I love Jesus and I love to imagine the amazing things I will get to experience when I spend an eternity with Him and other true believers in Heaven.

I love combining one, some, or all of these things.

In real life I love a mix of things and I have a mix of skills and abilities that complement each other. As a totally random side note – I also love to mix fattening things in a mixing bowl to bake, then I enjoy a mix of exercises to prevent the effects of all that mixing. Know what I mean?
