Friends

Over 8 years ago, circumstances led my family to a different church. After a few months of attendance, we had a little baby girl, and this lovely couple brought us a meal. That evening, as we sat in our living room, talking and getting to know each other, a prayer and a hope became a wonderful reality.

I had prayed for years for a friend, someone who shared my faith. Someone I could be real with. A woman who wanted to go beyond superficial gossip and pleasantries. That evening, I hoped that Elle and I might develop a friendship like that.

And that happened!

This woman has taught me what true strength and courage is. She has helped me to be a better woman, wife and mother. Together, we have worked to encourage each other in our faith. We have been honest with each other. We have prayed for each other. We have been there for each other in some terrible trials and tribulations.

What a blessing that our husbands have also become friends along the way!

For years they have traveled to Manistee to camp for a week, along the shore of Lake Michigan. This year we had the opportunity to join them for a couple of days. One evening we walked around the town and beach for a photo session. What a fun way to spend an evening!
