 I started blogging last fall, not really knowing what direction it would take me. I found that instead of leading me down a new mixed media art path like I was thinking it would, it has rekindled old passions – graphic design and photography. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing on a weekly basis, and I have met so many nice and inspirational people through this process.

In honor of this momentous occasion, I would like to share

My favorite 10+1! (In no particular order)

Because I don’t have time to come up with one hundred and one things, and you would thank me not to anyway!

10. Blogging

While there may be negativity and judgmental-ism in the blogging world, I have found most writers and readers to be encouraging and supportive. I have met some awesome online friends through this venture, and I have learned a lot about myself, and the way that God designed me.

9. Reading

Biography, history, or novels written in the first half of the 1900′s are always moved to the top of my reading list. My all time favorites are A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Diary of a Provincial Lady, and A Girl named Zippy.

8. Music

I love to listen to music and I love to play the drums while I am listening to music. I also like to play the drums with the praise band at church. Basically, I love to drum. drum. drum. (Including air drumming in the car.)

7. Creativity

I love drawing, painting, sewing, crafting, writing, and anything that involves one or more of these things. There are many problems that can be solved with creative thinking and action.

6. Humor

A good sense of humor will greatly enrich life! I love witty and well thought out comedy. Cleverness may not make you rich, but it will make you my friend.

5. Photography

I love the challenge of making art with a camera. I think that almost any subject can be interesting with the right camera angle and settings. I do not think that you need a fancy camera to take amazing pictures, you just need a little creativity and know how!

4. Monkey

He is curiouser and curiouser about everything! He loves to sing loudly, ride his bike, and wrestle with his dad and siblings. He really likes to be helpful, and will ask if he can help me with chores around the house. He can often be found coloring on paper, his body, or inanimate objects.

3. Sissy

Passion and creativity flow from this girl like a chocolate from a fountain. She loves animals, drawing, coloring, and playing with doll house sized people and objects. She is very confident in her fashion sense, and will often pick out outfits based on their colorfulness, not their matchingness.

2. DeanO

Compassion and consideration for others is his finest quality at 8 years old. He loves Legos, building with his dad, and doing manly things. He has an admiration for firearms and other assorted weapons, an obsession admiration he shares with his dad. He is also a very good shot.

1. Jer

This guy melts my butter, if you know what I mean!  He is the perfect match for me and I couldn’t be happier that he chose to marry me. He takes his role in our home very seriously, he has a great sense of humor, and he strives to be the man God wants him to be. This man loves his family. He is an amazing leader and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for him and our family.

+1. God and His son Jesus

I have faith that in spite of my sin, my shortcomings, my success and failures, or my good works, I will be given the opportunity to enjoy eternity on the new earth in the presence of Jesus and his faithful followers. Because He paid the price that I owe for my own sin through His torture and death on the cross, and He rose from the dead, and is alive today, I am saved from the eternal torture of hell, and given the hope of eternal life in a place that has no sin, no trials, no grief or tears, no hint of any bad at all. I often fail to act on or live out this faith. I often forget God, or choose a way that does not please Him. But I have forgiveness, if I will ask for it. And as long as I’m alive, I have another chance to try again.
