Showers and Mud Baths

June 19, 2012 in Wordful Wednesday

It hasn’t rained here much in the last month, but in the past couple of days we have had some short and heavy showers. On Monday afternoon that resulted in a large mud puddle forming in our driveway. That, in turn, resulted in our three oldest children spending a bit of time in the puddle. First, it was walking through the puddle. Then it was sitting in the puddle. Then it was running through the puddle. Then it was “swimming” in the puddle. Then it was riding bikes as fast as possible through the puddle. Then it was stomping and splashing in the puddle. Then it was off to the lake to swim for real after Jer got home.

Mud water covered every part of their body, but they LOVED it.

Monkey, pictured below, apparently wanted to prove that he could hold his breath under mud puddle water. He did this several times, then just got on his belly and pretended to swim. The imagination of a child is at times incomprehensible.
