Turtz the Turtle

If you follow me on Facebook, you may have already met Turtz the Turtle. Last Thursday Sissy and I went out to get the mail and this little guy was sitting right in the middle of the road, exactly halfway between the two yellow lines. We brought him up to the house and took some pictures and held him captive a short while until DeanO could return from school and see him. Once Jer got home, they took him out and released him in the woods. It was a fine visit with Turtz and he turned out to be an agreeable photo model for me, as long as I kept him on his back.
Below is my submission for photo feedback.

First of all those claws are crazy! He has remarkable coloring, so lovely.
Thank you for joining in Photo Feedback again. It makes me smile to see you here each week.
I love the depth of field you captured. There does seem to be a little something missing, though. I can’t put my finger on it. I think it is the composition. I know you can’t try a different shot with him, but maybe a shot head on as he is tucked in? I think it would have had neat symmetry and a story to it. Totally just my opinion and suggestion. These are really neat photos. It looks like he cooperated very well.
I can’t even believe the colors on his shell! I think my favorite composition is the one of him in the grass coming out from the corner. That one is great!
Wow, cool subject and great shots. Those claws are something else. Love the bright color you captured!
