Y’all Come Back Now, Ya Hear?

May 10, 2012 in Photography

Almost four years ago, we sold our house. I prayed that a family with small kids would buy it. We were building another house in the same neighborhood and I hoped it would be a good opportunity to make some new friends. I also hoped that the mom would be super cool and beautiful and smart and funny.

The Lowrance’s, pictured above, were God’s answer to that prayer. (And the mom turned out to be all of those things!)  They are from the south y’all. And they think we talk funny. And they think it is cold in the winter. And they turned out to be awesome friends and Cranium players.

I have spent many an hour with Mrs. Lowrance watching our kids play and talking about God’s work in our life. We’ve prayed for each other and listened to each others struggles.

But now, with graduation from medical school nearly completed for Mister Lowrance, they are leaving Michigan. Mrs. Lowrance asked me if I would take their pictures before they left, and I said that I would love to. It was my first “scheduled” amateur photo shoot. And it was fun!

I love this couple and their beautiful kids! I will miss them sorely, but I hope we will be able to visit each other in the future and keep in touch. (They are moving to Miami for a year, so I am trying to figure out a reason to have to fly down there this winter! Am I right, Jer??)

Lowrance’s – It has been a great pleasure to have a friendship with you and we will miss you! Y’all come back to Michigan someday, ya hear!

Below you will find a gallery with some of the pics from our session.
