Wordful Wednesday – Tiny Hiding Spider
March 27, 2012 in Wordful Wednesday
Over the weekend, I attempted to shoot some photos for this week’s challenge - Create a “guess what” photo – this is a photo that is so close up that the subject becomes abstract.
Here is a series of photos that are all taken of the mossy growth on the log you see directly below. I didn’t end up with a “Guess What” photo, but I did end up with a spider. Can you find it? (Scroll to the bottom for more on hiding spiders.)
As I was taking these photos, I did not notice the spider walking along the small branch in this last photo. When I opened them for editing, I found that little guy.
It really led me to thinking about the small details of my life that I miss. The things that get taken for granted that I rarely stop to consider. The blessings that come into my life in various forms that I am oblivious to. How much more grateful of a person would I be if I slowed down to look for the “spiders” hiding in plain sight in my life?
Sometimes my life does get busy. That is natural. That is life. (Last week was the busiest week we have had in a long time.)
But.
Is every season of my life so busy that I struggle to make it through? Do I have slower seasons that allow me to see the blessings and enjoy them? Is my life so packed full of activities and events and doing that I miss the hiding spiders?
May the Lord help me to see those tiny hiding blessings in my life.
