The photo challenge for this week was “Express the following word in a photo: Transition.”

I have been thinking over this one since I read it at the beginning of March. I did not know what I was going to do for this challenge until after I took these pictures at my parent’s house Sunday evening. Then it hit me, spring. That’s my favorite time of transition of seasons.

A young lilac bush was ripe for practicing some shots. This little lady bug was crawling around on one of the buds.

Some tiny lilacs are peeking through, getting ready to transition into fragrant flowers.

Where did this guy come from? A hearty remnant from the fall?

The siding on their garage, combined with the angle of the sun and the large aperture made this image appear to have soft rays of sun lighting up this branch.

In Michigan, we are transitioning to spring much earlier than usual. Spring always renews my spirits and gets me excited about life in general. There is something about everything blooming and the burst of color that can be seen nearly everywhere that makes me want to completely ignore the housework and enjoy the outdoors everyday. (Don’t worry Jer, I probably will. hehe-wink).
